YOSHIDAYA Style - 吉田屋風 -
Yoshidaya style refers to the style of ceramics fired in the kilns of the Toyoda family (business name Yoshidaya), a premier school of kutaniyaki, especially those operated by Toyoda Den'emon, who was active during the Bunsei period (1818-1829).
Yoshidaya painted the surface of the plate completely using only the 4 colors, yellow, green, dark blue and purple and never red.
This style is considered the most inherited from the Ko-Kutani style, with motifs of flowers and birds, landscapes, small patterns, and flowers and grasses painted in blue, yellow and purple.
