"Botan-zu Fusuma" (牡 丹 図 襖)

This small two-fold screen is inspired by the Kano school's "Peonies" which forms part of former 18-faced fusuma (Japanese sliding doors) surrounding the hall of Daikakuji Temple in Kyoto.
The contrast between the large peonies and the garden stone is boldly drawn and exudes the elegance of the palace. The handles of the sliding doors are also painted in the center of each side of the screen. Although small, this Byōbu screen has been elaborately reproduced in great detail.

Dieser kleine zwei-Panel Paravent ist von den "Pfingstrosen" der Kano-Schule inspiriert, die Teil der ehemaligen 18-flächigen Fusuma (japanische Schiebetüren) sind, die die Halle des Daikakuji-Tempels in Kyoto umgeben.
Der Kontrast zwischen den großen Pfingstrosen und dem Gartenstein ist kühn gezeichnet und strahlt die Eleganz des Palastes aus. Die Griffe der Schiebetüren sind ebenfalls in der Mitte jeder Seite des Paravents zu sehen. Obwohl klein, wurde dieser Byōbu sehr detailreich nachgebildet.
