◆◆◆

An elegant Yunomi teacup made by Bunzan-kiln in Arita.

The decor of the teacup is inspired by peonies, which in Japan is called "Botan". The emphasized outline of each petal spreading across the entire cup, creating a bold yet subtle elegance with their colors and gold rims.

The piece made with ceramic decoration techniques such as "icchin" (contour effect), "kinsai" (gilding) and "dami" (painting with thick dami- brush) techniques.

The cup is decorated by hand and fired in a kiln - so each cup is unique.

On the back of the teacup is the inscription "Bunsan".

about manufacturer

BUNZAN Kiln

Bunzan is a venerable Kiln that believes in inheriting the 400-year history of Arita ware and passing it on to the next generation. They have their own "tunnel kiln", which is rare among in Arita-yaki today.

Using the kiln, the pottery has produced various long-selling products that have opened a new frontier for Arita ware, with its history of 400 years, including hotarude (ceramics with transparent patterns), tebineri (hand-twisted ceramics) and peony-patterned ceramics with a platinum rim.

By reflecting the Japanese emotional sensibility and delicacy, as well as Arita's unique splendor and gracefulness, in its tableware, and by arranging classical motifs in a modern way, they are nurturing the creation of products that are used and loved as tableware for daily life. Rather than relying on the traditions of Arita-yaki, they create each item with great care while feeding back many stimuli into their creations. The texture of the pottery fits comfortably in your hand and deepens with time. They will continue to bring warmth and richness to your life through their pottery.
