🔸Tea set 1+2 "Himetsuchi HANA" - HAGI ware
This tea set consists of a teapot and two Yunomi-teacups made in the Shutouen kiln in Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The elegant round shape and pale pink gradation are very attractive. The knob on the lid of the teapot is flower-shaped, which is also the reason for the name "HANA".
The pale pink gradation of this Hagi ware is the result of a perfect fusion of fine Hagi clay "Himetsuchi" and glaze during the firing process. Each piece glazed by hand, therefore individual nuances of shades.

Dieses Teeset besteht aus einer Teekanne und zwei Teetassen, die im Shutouen-Ofen in Hagi, Präfektur Yamaguchi, hergestellt wurden. Die elegante runde Form und die blassrosa Abstufung sind sehr attraktiv. Der Knauf auf dem Deckel der Teekanne ist blumenförmig, was auch der Grund für die Bezeichnung "HANA" ist.
Die blassrosa Abstufung dieser Hagi-Ware ist das Ergebnis einer perfekten Verschmelzung von feinem Hagi-Ton "Himetsuchi" und Glasur während des Brennvorgangs. Jedes Stück von Hand glasiert, daher individuelle Nuancen an Farbtönungen.

The charm of Hagi Ware lies in the rough texture of the clay and the pockmarked surfaces laced with cracks in the glaze.
Hagi Ware is liquid-permeable. This results in another interesting characteristic, that is, that its color and tone change with use, especially if used to drink tea. Hagi Ware also effectually expresses a certain simplicity due to the original standards of its style, the tint of the clay, and the glazing technique.
Another feature is the simplicity of form and decoration. Therefore, Hage Ware has been widely appreciated by experts of the tea ceremony.

Their pottery is characterized by its rich design, with a focus on colors typical of Hagi ware such as Kohiki, Gohonte, and Kairagi, as well as elaborate surface techniques and bold wheel marks.

It is very identifiable for its mixed clay made from three types of soils (Daido, Mitake and Mishima soils) and the use of a feldspar glaze. The clay is characterized by being comparatively soft and absorbent.
