A two-fold Japanese screen depicting a brilliant peacock with its plumage cascading toward the birds on the ground. The vivid brilliant birds are presented at peacefully engaged angles, and further emphasize the sense of movement and interplay.
The pictorial vocabulary of birds and flowers are comes from Kano school, and Maruyama Ōkyo (1733-1795), who developed a style which was a mixture of both Western naturalism and Eastern decorative design. Peacocks were popular for their vibrantly colored plumage and were customarily combined with peonies to convey auspicious meanings.

Ein zwei-Paneelen kleiner Byobu Screen, der einen majestätischen Pfau zeigt, dessen Gefieder zu den Vögeln am Boden kaskadiert. Die farbenfrohen Vögel werden in friedlich Schwarm präsentiert, was den Sinn für Bewegung und Interaktion.
Das Bild der Vögel und Blumen basieren auf dem Malstil von Kano Schule, und Maruyama Ōkyo (1733-1795), der einen Stil entwickelte, der eine Mischung aus westlichem Naturalismus und östlicher dekorativer Gestaltung dargestellt.
