The traditional "sparrow and bamboo" design is a common motif in Japanese painting. The family crests of the Uesugi and Date families also feature a figurative design of bamboo and sparrows. The sparrows swarming around the evergreen bamboo are considered to be one of the auspicious crests for the prosperity of descendants and the family fortunes.
The "take suzume" teacup is thick-walled, fairly large teacup.

Das traditionelle Design „Spatz und Bambus“ ist ein häufiges Motiv in der japanischen Malerei.
