A classic Japanese chopstick in red (Kiso-negoro-nuri) and in black (Kiso-akebono-nuri).

The durable natural wood has been lacquered using the traditional Suri-Urushi method. The process of applying, drying and polishing the lacquer is repeated over and over until the exquisite finish is achieved. The rough-hewn handles of the chopsticks fit comfortably in your hand. Kiso lacquerware is produced in the Kiso region of Nagano Prefecture, Japan. The climate, with cool summers and very cold winters, is ideal for applying the lacquer.

Eine klassische japanische Essstäbchen in Rot (Kiso-negoro-nuri) und in Schwarz (Kiso-akebono-nuri).

Das strapazierfähige Naturholz wurde nach der traditionellen Suri-Urushi-Methode lackiert, bei der der Lack wiederholt aufgetragen und abgewischt wird, um die Schönheit der Lackschichten hervorzuheben. Die grob behauenen Griffe der Stäbchen liegen gut in der Hand.

Kiso-Lackwaren werden im Bezirk Kiso in der Präfektur Nagano, hergestellt. Das Klima mit kühlen Sommern und sehr kalten Wintern ist ideal für den Lackauftrag.

What is Negoro- and Akebono-nuri?

"negoro" is one of the traditional Japanese artisanal painting technique in which a kuro-urushi (black lacquer) primer is followed by a syu-urushi (vermilion) coating. "Akebono" is the opposite: black lacquer is applied over vermilion. are polished at the end so that the undercoat is visible.

Was ist Negoro und Akebono Nuri?

„Negoro“ ist eine der traditionellen japanischen handwerklichen Lacktechniken, bei der auf eine Grundierung mit Kuro-Urushi (schwarzer Lack) eine Beschichtung mit Syu-urushi (Zinnrot) folgt. „Akebono“ ist das Gegenteil: Schwarzer Lack wird über Zinnober aufgetragen.
