Kokeshi Titel "Ameagari" means 'After the rain', as you can guess viewing her lowered umbrella.
Amongst particularities of this doll is the large umbrella decorated with colourful flowers, a brightly colour and smooth black hair. She also has very charming eyelashes.

This model, which won a craft prize in Japan, is delivered with a little wooden sign where it is written from right to left:

Der Titel der Kokeshi-Puppe "Ameagari" bedeutet "after the rain", wie man an dem Regenschirm erkennen kann.

Fujikawa Shôei (藤川正衛)
Born in Numata, in the prefecture of Gunma in 1942. He studied with master Ishida Kanji, the first president of the "Gunma Kokeshi cooperative association" from 1959 to 1962.Since 1991. Afterward, he opened Fujikawa Craft Corporation. He received many Kokeshi prizes including the Prime Minister's prize in 1996 and 2002, one was for his Kokeshi titled Michi Ko "Rain Child". And also won in his career, the "Minister of Agriculture, forestry and Fishery" in 1995 and 1996.
